The other big topic we’re focusing on at RSAC this year is network security for highly virtualized data centers. We’re giving presentations each hour about our new Virtualized Elastic Security Appliance (vESA), which makes it possible to protect network traffic that is traveling among constantly-changing virtual machines (VMs) in multi-tenant environments.
vESA solves the problem of how you can implement firewalls and VPNs (with other security services coming soon) in software-defined networks without requiring manual reconfiguration every time a new VM is spun up, torn down, or migrated to different physical hardware.
We’re already seeing some very interesting ways that private cloud providers, telecoms, and managed security service providers (MSSPs) can use vESA to make security-as-a-service real. We hope you stop by.
